spring is here!
The last two weeks of march have been a rollercoaster ride! First I was stressing out for finals and then I was slacking in Fremont.Oh man finals week was so exhausting! The final English paper (1750words MIN) was due on Thursday afternoon and I procrastinated to the extent that I started writing on Wednesday night 9pm. I dragged stephen to the library with me, in hopes that I can get some substantial writing done. Haha well we spent 3 hours there and I only managed to churn out 6 lines. Clearly, it was going to be a really long night. Ok I’ll admit it. I pulled an all-nighter! Slogged through the wee hours of the morning and actually managed to finish my essay by 6.30am! hahaha thankfully stephen was nice enough to wake up at 6.30am to have breakfast with me! After I sent my essay to my prof, I slept all through the afternoon!! ☺ and you know what? This essay scored 94/100. Oooh man I can’t believe my last-minute work can be that good. Haha
Ok anyway the rest of the week I was buried in books and review sessions. Thank goodness for study buddies: pansy, renee, jon, stephen and mat! The night before my English finals, mugging hard in the study lounge with jon and stephen. We were soooo bored and drained that me and stephen decided to have a showdown on “who is taller??”. jon was soooo uncooperative. jon is like 1.84m and he wouldn’t stand up to help us judge. ARGH. luckily sarah came along and proclaimed that I was the taller one! yay for me! But stephen could not concede defeat so he vented his frustrations by kicking me in the shins. Oh my gosh I even have the bruises as solid proof!! Boos..
Whew! After sitting through all 4 papers, spring break was FINALLY here!! Boared the Amtrak train, 2 hour ride to Fremont where Stephen agreed to play host to me during my stay in his hometown ☺ hurray!! Got off the train at Fremont and was surprised to see jon there too!! Well that idiot kept complaining that he’s missing grey’s and ugly betty to come pick me up. Lame…as if I even forced him to come! Haha anyway the guys brought me to chipotle for dinner. The burrito was pretty good but the serving was soooooo big that I had to waste ¼ of it. Oooh bubble tea was the next stop! Wait. It’s called babao here…man sometimes I don’t get their lingo. Checked into my hotel…erm which was a little shady….so I begged Stephen to stay with me on the first night (DON'T WORRY there were two separate beds!! Ahaha) talked talked till 3am then he left, leaving me to fight off any “scary monsters” in the room!!
Next morning, my darling host Stephen drove me to various places in fremont. Sight-see sight-see. Asian market, jap food, borders, cool sunglasses. I’ll let the pictures do the talking…
Okok so the next day me jon and Stephen took a 20 minute drive up to san jose to pick up pansy and the whole gang of us went to watch TMNT in the MORNING!! Haha yeah in hopes to save some moolah. Morning shows are cheaper. Oh man in my opinion, it aint any cheaper….USD7 = SGD 12 for one movie. Good thing is the theatre is pretty EMPTY. The weird thing was that we were the only 4 pple there who weren’t between ages 6-12…..yeah…haha anyway I thought it was a pretty funny show ☺
More shopping!!! Valley fair and Santana row! Wooon and fel!! I have to drag you guys here to shop someday!! Oooh dinner at cheesecake factory!!!! The food was sooooooooooo scrumptious. The cheesecake I had: white chocolate and raspberry truffle, was OMG!!! the rest of the night was followed by delirious pple drinking themselves silly in my hotel room. Haha good times good times.
Next day Stephen was relieved of his “taking care of yuru” duties and I was passed on to the next host: jon. Man I spent the entire day at his house, cos he didn’t have any car. But it was cool!! Played pool, reviewed his entire book collection, ooooh and aaahh over his baby pics, watched ugly betty online…and stayed soooo long that his mom asked me to stay for dinner. Oops :P
Final shopping trip, followed by dinner at Vietnamese restaurant, more bubble tea and then packed our bags, headed back to davis. Yeah it’s the start of a new quarter and I’m already exhausted. Darn.
